ANNPSR’s Graduate Program accelerates graduate’s career growth through real work on nationally significant nuclear safety challenges, broad experiences across a unique regulatory environment, and dedicated support.
We are looking for graduates who have recently completed or are in their final year of a Bachelor’s degree under the following disciplines:
- Physics/Nuclear Physics
- Engineering (Nuclear, Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Systems, Environmental)
- Science (Nuclear, Environmental, Medical radiation)
- Required disciplines may vary with each intake
About the program
This two-year program, delivered across four rotations, provides you with an opportunity to build experiences across rotations, from collaborating with nuclear and regulatory experts to supporting safety and compliance activities, engaging stakeholders, and applying your skills to complex challenges critical to Australia’s nuclear-powered submarine program.
You will benefit from:
- Rotations across teams to build breadth of experience and capability
- An external rotation to another Nuclear Government agency or Industry partner
- Contributing to the nuclear-powered submarine enterprise under AUKUS
- Working at the forefront of a long-term, multi-decade national initiative

Learning and Development
ANNPSR’s learning and development activities will help graduates connect with ANNPSR’s mission, and the broader Australian Public Service (APS).
At the start of the Graduate Program, graduates will need to complete a variety of mandatory training modules.
Throughout the Program, graduates will be provided with the opportunity to complete training designed to equip them with key core APS capabilities as well as tailored programs and unique experiences specific to the regulatory environment.
Eligibility to apply
You must meet ANNPSR general eligibility requirements to apply for the Graduate Program.
All candidates must:
- be an Australian citizen
- be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Negative Vetting 1 level
- have recently completed or are in their final year of a Bachelor’s degree
Due to the unique workplace context and sensitive work undertaken, applicants may be required to undergo additional suitability screening or assessments.
