The Australian Naval Nuclear Power Safety Regulator is pleased to share that Mr Dale Heinken has commenced as its new Deputy Director-General.
This statutory appointment carries responsibility for assuring the standards of nuclear safety and radiological protection are met across Australia’s nuclear-powered submarine enterprise to protect the environment and people as set out in the Australian Naval Nuclear Power Safety Act 2024.
Mr Heinken brings deep technical expertise in naval nuclear propulsion, including as an operator and inspector. He has extensive experience applying nuclear safety and regulatory principles through operations, oversight and regulatory reform. He has a strong record of leadership across government and industry sectors.
The Regulator is proud to welcome Mr Heinken to the team as it upholds the highest standards of nuclear safety.
